I never knew this piano existed until it recently came available out of an estate where it was purchased new in 1992. Yamaha's product line consists of the well appreciated C Series and handmade S series.  C series instruments are manufactured on Yamaha's assembly line in Hamamatsu Japan whereas S series pianos are handbuilt with only the finest materials and expertise available. A Yamaha S6 6'11" will sell for about $30k more than the C6 version at $66,000! After doing a search on Google I discovered that Yamaha's website touts this piano as  being built by special Yamaha Artisans and will set you back $250,000. I have no idea where that price comes from  but it is there nonetheless. I do know that this piano is only built to order and only a very few exist. Parts are common with all other Yamaha's as long as it doesn't fall off a truck! The piano plays flawlessly as it is in NEW condition with no appreciable wear. The finish is as new as are all the interior felts and action parts. One piece fallboard, S series music stand, solid wood lyre braces (metal rods are on C series), brass pedal rods, real one piece ivory keys (more common is the two piece keytops found on older Steinways), real ebony wood sharps, Solid brass 3rd lid prop, over size solid brass casters and a sound second to none are the apparent features found on this piano.
