Description Up for auction is one signed framed photograph of English author, John Galsworthy, in sepia tones. This is an original autograph as can be seen in the close-up picture, with the slight ink smear and the date 1930. Galsworthy is best known for his Forsyte Saga trilogies, later dramatized on PBS, and for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1932. The photo itself measures 5-3/8" x almost 4" and framed is 10-1/8" x 12-5/8". It is double-matted and framed in gold-painted wood with a dado pattern on the inside edge. This is a lovely collector's item and was purchased nearly 35 years ago at B. Dalton's autograph sellers division in NYC. I am also sacrificing a Richard Strauss autograph/ photo purchased at the same store, due to down-sizing my living quarters.
